Rahmanipour

Rahmanipur, Mahmud (1913-)

Instrumentalist performing on the ‘ud in the Golha Orchestra. He studied at the National Conservatory of Music under the directorship of Ruhu’llah Khaliqi (1949-1959). His first instrument was the ‘ud but subsequently he studied the violin and the tumbak with Abu’l-Hasan Saba and Husayn Tehrani respectively. He performed on the ‘ud and the violin at the orchestras of the National Conservatory, Iranian Radio and Television, and for the Ministry of Culture and Art. He performed as an instrumentalist in the Golha Orchestra as well as in numerous concerts both in Iran and abroad. No independent solo performance of his has been to date released.
